The Mulvane baseball team defeated Abilene and McPherson to bring home the regional championship.

It's "Back to State" for the Mulvane High School baseball team as the Wildcats took over the regional tournament and defeated Abilene and top seed McPherson for the 2021 regional championship. This is the 12th trip to state for the program since it's inception in 1982 (1982, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1992, 1993, 1999, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2019, 2021).

Mulvane trickled in one run in three seperate innings against Abilene and the pitching & defense shut out the Cowboys for the Wildcats 3-0 win. Senior Tab Creekmore scored all 3 runs for the Cats.

Ellis earned the win for the Mulvane Wildcats. He tossed five innings, giving up zero runs, one hit, and walking five.

The Mulvane Wildcats grabbed 8 hits in the game. Tab Creekmore, Hunter Seier, Parker Richardson, Ian Comer, and Garrett Olson each grabbed hits in the game for the Mulvane Wildcats. Tab Creekmore, Hunter Seier, and Parker Richardson all had 2 hits to lead the Mulvane Wildcats.

Hunter Seier and Parker Richardson both had RBIs for the Cats. Parker Richardson knocked in 2 runs and Hunter Seier finshed with 1 RBI.

The Cats stole 2 bases during the game with Tab Creekmore and Keaton Herd both recording stolen bases.

The Wildcats faced the top seed McPherson Bullpups in the regional championship game and the Cats capitalized on the Bullpups pitching struggles in the second inning as the Cats scored 6 runs in the frame.

Richardson earned the win for the Wildcats. He tossed two innings, giving up three runs, one hit, and walking four. Julien Myers came in and tossed four innings, giving up two runs, three hits, and two strikeouts. Hunter Seier relieved in the last inning and earned the save.

The Wildcats collected 3 hits in the game. Tab Creekmore, Mason Ellis, and Chase Dieker each had one hit in the game for the Mulvane Wildcats.

Tab Creekmore, Hunter Seier, Parker Richardson, and Ian Comer all had 1 RBI each in the game.

The Mulvane Wildcats stole 2 bases during the game with Tab Creekmore and Mason Ellis both recording stolen bases.

The Wildcats will face the Clearwater Indians in the first game of state on Thursday, May 27th, 2021 at Dean Evans Stadium in Salina.
