The Mulvane softball season came to a close at regionals. Team celebrates seniors on Sr. Night.

The Mulvane softball team closed out their regular season last week as they hosted the Buhler Crusaders on Monday, May 10th and the Ark City Bulldogs on Thursday, May 13th. The Wildcats swept the Crusaders and fell to Ark City in both games. The Cats celebrated the seniors Haley Chambers, Macy Chambers, Avery Dillon, and Ashley Hively in between games against Buhler. The Wildcats fell in the regional game against Pratt on Monday, May 18th to bring their 2021 season to a close with a final record of 4-17 (0-8 in league play).

Mulvane surged early and held on in a 14-3 win in game 1 versus Buhler on Monday, May 10th. Jalen Lavers earned the win for Mulvane. She tossed five innings, giving up three runs, eight hits, and walking two.
 
The Mulvane Wildcats had 14 hits in the game. Avrie Warner, Kammie Schanz, Haley Chambers, Avery Dillon, Madison Phipps, Jalin Lavers, and Emma Kendrick each had hits in the game for the Wildcats. Avrie Warner, Kammie Schanz, and Madison Phipps all had 3 hits to lead Mulvane.
 
The Mulvane Wildcats collected 9 RBIs in the game. Kammie Schanz, Haley Chambers, Madison Phipps, Jalin Lavers, and Ashley Hively each had RBIs for the Wildcats. Madison Phipps knocked in 4 runners to lead the Cats in RBIs.
 
The Cats stole 15 bases during the game with Avrie Warner, Kammie Schanz, Madison Phipps, Jalin Lavers, Emma Kendrick, Addison Mackey, Amber Hively, and India Downs all grabbing stolen bases.

A 5 run second inning propelled Mulvane to a strong early lead and they held on in for the 12-3 win in game 2 versus Buhler. Jalen Lavers earned the win for the Wildcats. She tossed four innings, giving up one run, four hits, and walking one.
 
The Wildcats grabbed 15 hits in the game. Ashley Hively, Avery Dillon, Madison Phipps, India Downs, Macy Chambers, Kammie Schanz, Avrie Warner, Jalin Lavers, Emma Kendrick, and Haley Chambers each grabbed hits in the game for Mulvane. Madison Phipps, India Downs, Macy Chambers, Kammie Schanz, and Avrie Warner all had 2 hits to lead the Wildcats. Kammie Schanz had an inside the park home run in the game.
 
The Wildcats collected 12 RBIs in the game. Madison Phipps, India Downs, Macy Chambers, Kammie Schanz, Avrie Warner, Jalin Lavers, Emma Kendrick, and Haley Chambers each grabbed RBIs for Mulvane. Kammie Schanz knocked in 3 runners to lead the Mulvane Wildcats in RBIs.
 
The Cats stole 6 bases during the game with Madison Phipps , India Downs , Jalin Lavers , and Emma Kendrick all grabbing stolen bases.

It was a close game all the way through the 7 innings but the Cats fell just short to Ark City in the 6-7 loss to Ark City on Thursday, May 13th.
 
Jalin Lavers was in the pitcher's circle for Wildcats. The hurler lasted seven innings, allowing 16 hits and seven runs while striking out four and walking zero.
 
The Cats finished with 13 hits in the game. Avery Dillon, Madison Phipps, Jalin Lavers, Haley Chambers, Ashley Hively, Tenley Canfield, Addison Mackey, and India Downs each had hits in the game for the Wildcats. Madison Phipps and Jalin Lavers both had 3 hits to lead the Wildcats.
 
The Wildcats grabbed 5 RBIs in the game. Madison Phipps, Jalin Lavers, Haley Chambers, and Tenley Canfield each finished with RBIs for the Wildcats. Jalin Lavers knocked in 2 runners to lead the Mulvane Wildcats in RBIs.
 
The Wildcats stole 2 bases during the game with Avery Dillon and Haley Chambers both recording stolen bases.

Game 2 against Ark City was another close battle but Mulvane had trouble driving in the runs in the 1-3 loss.
 
Jalen Lavers started the game for Wildcats. The pitcher lasted seven innings, allowing nine hits and three runs while striking out two and walking zero.
 
The Mulvane Wildcats collected 9 hits in the game. Jalin Lavers, Haley Chambers, Tenley Canfield, Kammie Schanz, and India Downs each had hits in the game for the Mulvane Wildcats. Jalin Lavers went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Cats in hits.
 
Jalin Lavers recorded the only RBI for the Mulvane Wildcats.
 
The Cats stole 1 base during the game with Kammie Schanz grabbing the only stolen base.

In the regional game against Pratt, a 4 run first inning found the Cats down and unable to climb back in as they fell 2-7.

Jalin Lavers started the game for Wildcats. The hurler allowed eight hits and seven runs over six innings, striking out two.

The Mulvane Wildcats collected 6 hits in the game. Addison Mackey, Kammie Schanz, Tenley Canfield, India Downs, Madison Phipps, and Avrie Warner had 1 hit each in the game for the Wildcats.

The Mulvane Wildcats collected 2 RBIs in the game. Kammie Schanz and Haley Chambers both collected the only RBIs for Mulvane.

The Cats stole 1 base during the game with Haley Chambers grabbing the only stolen base.

Freshman Madison Phipps led the Wildcats this season in batting average, hits, doubles, and runs scored this season with 27 hits on 66 at bats for a .409 average, 13 doubles, and 21 runs scored. Jalin Lavers led the Cats in triples with 3 on the season. Kammie Schanz and Tenly Canfield had the Wildcats 2 home runs this season, both were inside the park home runs. India Downs and Jalin Lavers both led the Cats in RBI's with 12 each. Madison Phipps and Addison Mackey both led the team in stolen bases with 14 each.

Jalin Lavers and Addison Mackey shared time in the pitchers circle with Jalen finishing with 88 1/3rd innings pitched and Addison with 37 innings pitched. Jalin finished with 77 strikeouts and a 7.05 ERA. Addison Mackey finished with 15 strikeouts and a 9.84 ERA.
