The Mulvane Softball team battled against Wellington and Cheney, fall short in the two doubleheaders.

The Mulvane softball team had two doubleheaders this past week against Cheney and Wellington. The Cats fought valiantly but fell just short 4-5 against Cheney in game 1 last Monday. The Cats were down 5 runs and had a 4 run sixth inning but couldn't come up with that last run to tie the game.
 
Jalin Lavers was in the pitcher's circle for Wildcats. The hurler surrendered five runs on five hits over six innings, striking out five and walking one.
 
The Wildcats collected 6 hits in the game. Addison Mackey, Madison Phipps, Avrie Warner, Kammie Schanz, and Haley Chambers each collected hits in the game for the Wildcats. Addison Mackey went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Mulvane in hits.
 
The Cats had 4 RBIs in the game. Addison Mackey, Kammie Schanz, and Haley Chambers each collected RBIs for the Wildcats. Kammie Schanz knocked in 2 runners to lead Mulvane in RBIs.
 
Mulvane stole 4 bases during the game with Addison Mackey, Avrie Warner, and Haley Chambers all grabbing stolen bases.

A 5 run second inning for Cheney saw the Cats down by 4 and the Cats had trouble getting runners across the plate in game 2 as they fell 2-10.
 
Addison Mackey led things off on the rubber for Wildcats. The pitcher went three innings, allowing six runs on six hits and walking one. Jalin Lavers threw three innings out of the bullpen.
 
Mulvane had 7 hits in the game. Macy Chambers, Emma Kendrick, Madison Phipps, and Avrie Warner each had hits in the game for the Cats. Emma Kendrick, Madison Phipps, and Avrie Warner all had 2 hits to lead Mulvane.
 
Mulvane grabbed 2 RBIs in the game. Avrie Warner recorded the only RBI for the Cats. Avrie Warner knocked in 2 runners to lead Mulvane in RBIs.
 
The Mulvane Wildcats stole 3 bases during the game with Macy Chambers and Emma Kendrick both recording stolen bases.

The Mulvane Wildcats had trouble overcoming a 7 run third inning in game 1 against Wellington and could not come back in a 7-15 loss on Thursday. 
 
Lavers toed the rubber for Wildcats. The hurler went six innings, allowing 14 runs on 13 hits and striking out four. Addison Mackey threw one inning out of the bullpen.
 
The Wildcats grabbed 14 hits in the game. India Downs, Haley Chambers, Addison Mackey, Kammie Schanz, Avrie Warner, and Tenley Canfield each grabbed hits in the game for the Mulvane Wildcats. India Downs went 4-for-4 and Haley Chambers went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Mulvane in batting avg.
 
The Wildcats had 5 RBIs in the game. India Downs, Addison Mackey, Kammie Schanz, and Jalin Lavers each grabbed RBIs for the Mulvane Wildcats. Kammie Schanz knocked in 2 runners to lead Mulvane in RBIs.
 
The Mulvane Wildcats stole 7 bases during the game with India Downs, Haley Chambers, Kammie Schanz, Avrie Warner, Tenley Canfield, and Jalin Lavers all grabbing stolen bases.

In game 2, Wellington jumped out with 8 runs against Mulvane and the Cats could not come back in a 2-12 loss.
 
Jalin Lavers was on the rubber for Wildcats. The pitcher allowed 11 hits and ten runs over four and a third innings, striking out two. Addison Mackey threw one and two-thirds innings in relief.
 
The Wildcats had 5 hits in the game. Addison Mackey, Emma Kendrick, Avrie Warner, and Jalin Lavers each had hits in the game for the Cats. Addison Mackey went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Mulvane Wildcats in hits.
 
The Wildcats had 2 RBIs in the game. Avrie Warner and Madison Phipps both had the only RBIs for Mulvane. Avrie Warner, and Madison Phipps all had 1 RBIs to lead the Cats.
 
The Cats stole 4 bases during the game with Addison Mackey, Avrie Warner, Madison Phipps, and India Downs all grabbing stolen bases.

The Wildcats will celebrate the seniors on Monday, May 10th as they host the Buhler Crusaders and will wrap up the regular season next Thursday as they host the Ark City Bulldogs.
