The Mulvane Softball team battled against Wellington and Andale, fall just short in two of the games.

The Mulvane Softball team traveled to Andale on Thursday, April 8th for a league doubleheader against the Indians. In game 1, the Indians jumped out ahead with 8 runs in the first 3 innings. The Cats battled back but fell 6-8.
 
Jalin Lavers toed the rubber for Wildcats. The pitcher allowed six hits and seven runs over two innings, striking out one. Addison Mackey threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen.
 
The Cats collected 9 hits in the game. Avery Dillon, Emma Kendrick, Avrie Warner, Kammie Schanz, Madison Phipps, Tenley Canfield, and India Downs each collected hits in the game for the Cats. Emma Kendrick and Avrie Warner both had 2 hits to lead the Cats.
 
The Wildcats collected 3 RBIs in the game. Avery Dillon, Avrie Warner, and India Downs each collected RBIs for the Cats. Avery Dillon Avrie Warner and India Downs both had 1 RBI to lead the Cats.
 
The Cats stole 3 bases during the game with Avrie Warner and Kammie Schanz both recording stolen bases.

Andale jumped out ahead in the second game and never looked back as the Cats fell 4-17.
 
Addison Mackey started the game in the pitcher's circle for Wildcats. Mackey allowed 11 hits and 16 runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three. Jalin Lavers threw one-third of an inning in relief.
 
The Wildcats collected 6 hits in the game. Haley Chambers, Madison Phipps, India Downs, Avrie Warner, and Emma Kendrick each collected hits in the game for the Mulvane Wildcats. Madison Phipps went 2-for- 3 at the plate to lead the Cats in hits.
 
The Wildcats collected 2 RBIs in the game. Madison Phipps and Avrie Warner both collected the only RBIs for the Cats.
 
The Mulvane Wildcats stole 2 bases during the game with Madison Phipps and Addison Mackey both recording stolen bases.

The Mulvane Softball team traveled to Wellington on Tuesday, April 6th for a non-league doubleheader against the Crusaders. The Crusaders jumped ahead in the second inning and the Cats battled back but fell 4-8 in the end.
 
Jalin Lavers was in the circle for Wildcats. The hurler surrendered eight runs on eight hits over six innings, striking out seven.
 
Mulvane had 9 hits in the game. Madison Phipps, Avrie Warner, Kammie Schanz, Jalin Lavers, and India Downs each had hits in the game for the Cats. Madison Phipps, Avrie Warner, Kammie Schanz, and Jalin Lavers all had 2 hits to lead the Mulvane Wildcats.
 
Mulvane grabbed 4 RBIs in the game. Kammie Schanz, Jalin Lavers, and India Downs each had RBIs for the Cats. India Downs knocked in 2 runners to lead Mulvane in RBIs.
 
Mulvane stole 2 bases during the game with Madison Phipps grabbing 2 stolen bases.

In game 2, there were four lead changes in the game as the Cats and Crusaders battled back and forth but the Cats fell 12-13 after a great game. Mulvane's biggest inning was the sixth inning where they scored 7 runs in the frame.
 
Jalin Lavers started the game for the Wildcats. The pitcher allowed nine hits and six runs over 4.33 innings, striking out five. Addison Mackey threw 2.67 innings in relief out of the bullpen.
 
The Cats had 15 hits in the game. India Downs, Madison Phipps, Avrie Warner, Haley Chambers, Addison Mackey, Jalin Lavers, Kammie Schanz, and Tenley Canfield each had hits in the game for Mulvane. India Downs went 3-for- 4 at the plate to lead the Cats in hits.
 
The Cats grabbed 11 RBIs in the game. India Downs, Madison Phipps, Avrie Warner, Addison Mackey, Jalin Lavers, and Macy Chambers each had RBIs for Mulvane. India Downs knocked in 4 runners to lead the Cats in RBIs.
 
The Mulvane Wildcats stole 6 bases during the game with India Downs , Avrie Warner , Addison Mackey , Tenley Canfield , and Avery Dillon all grabbing stolen bases.

The JV team fell to Andale 12-13 and 5-14 and the JV games vs Wellington were canceled.

The varsity team is sitting at 2-6 on the season and 0-4 in league play. The Cats will be back in action on Monday, April 19th as they travel to Winfield for a non-league doubleheader. There will be no JV games at Winfield.
