The Mulvane Baseball team grabbed 2 wins in the season home opener, top Clearwater.

The Mulvane baseball team kicked off their 2021 season in style as they swept the Clearwater Indians in the double header 13-12 and 6-0 last Thursday, April 1st.

The game was back and forth for a few innings and the Cats found themselves down by 5 until they had a monster 6 run inning in the bottom of the 6th and held on for the 13-12 win.

Tab Creekmore (Sr.) earned the win for Mulvane. He tossed one and 1/3 innings, giving up one run, one hit, and two strikeouts. Mason Ellis (Jr.) started the game, tossing three innings, giving up three runs, three hits, and three strikeouts. Parker Richardson (So.) relieved Mason and tossed two and 2/3 innings, giving up eight runs on four hits and five strikeouts.

The Cats finished with 13 hits in the game. Parker Richardson, Julien Myers (So.), Hunter Seier (Jr.), Cooper Schmidt (Jr.), Tab Creekmore, Trenton Davis (So.), Mason Ellis, and Ian Comer (Jr.) each grabbed hits in the game for the Cats. Julien Myers went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Mulvane Wildcats in hits.

The Cats collected 9 RBIs in the game. Parker Richardson, Julien Myers, Hunter Seier, Cooper Schmidt, and Tab Creekmore each grabbed RBIs for the Cats. Hunter Seier knocked in 4 runners to lead the Mulvane Wildcats in RBIs.

Mulvane stole 8 bases during the game with Parker Richardson, Julien Myers, Hunter Seier, Tab Creekmore, Mason Ellis, and Ian Comer all grabbing stolen bases.

Mulvane got up early and held on in a 6-0 win versus Clearwater in game 2.

Seier earned the win for the Cats. He tossed six and 2/3 innings, giving up zero runs, two hits, and twelve strikeouts.

The Mulvane Wildcats had 9 hits in the game. Parker Richardson, Mason Ellis, Ian Comer, Cooper Schmidt, Hunter Seier, and Trenton Davis each had hits in the game for the Mulvane Wildcats. Parker Richardson, Mason Ellis, and Cooper Schmidt all had 2 hits to lead the Wildcats.

The Mulvane Wildcats collected 3 RBIs in the game. Parker Richardson, Ian Comer, and Hunter Seier each had RBIs for the Mulvane Wildcats. Parker Richardson, Ian Comer, and Hunter Seier all had 1 RBIs to lead the Wildcats.

Mason Ellis had the only stolen bases in the game with 2.

The JV boys spilt with Clearwater as they fell 2-5 in game 1 and poured on the runs in game 2 winning 17-3.

The Wildcats will hit the field again this Thursday, April 8th at Andale with games starting at 4:00 PM.
