The Mulvane softball girls grab 2 wins against Sedgwick in season opener.

Mulvane surged early and held on in a 10-0 win versus Sedgwick last Friday, March 26th in their home opener.

Mulvane captured the lead in the 1st inning scoring 3 runs. The Wildcats' biggest inning was the second inning where they scored 4 runs in the frame.

Jalen Lavers earned the win for the Cats. She tossed five innings, giving up zero runs, one hit, and walking two.

The Cats had 7 hits in the game. Kammie Schanz, Haley Chambers, Tenley Canfield, Madison Phipps, Jalin Lavers, Macy Chambers, and Addison Mackey each had hits in the game for the Cats.

The Wildcats stole 21 bases during the game with Kammie Schanz, Haley Chambers, Tenley Canfield, Madison Phipps, Jalin Lavers, Macy Chambers, Addison Mackey, Amber Hively, and Avery Dillon all grabbing stolen bases.

In game 2, Mulvane grabbed the lead in the 3rd inning and held on in a 7-3 win.

Mackey earned the win for Mulvane. She tossed three innings, giving up two runs, four hits, and walking one, and one strikeout. Lavers came in and tossed four innings, giving up one run on five hits and eight strikeouts

The Wildcats had 13 hits in the game. Madison Phipps, Jalin Lavers, India Downs, Haley Chambers, Addison Mackey, and Tenley Canfield each had hits in the game for the Wildcats. Madison Phipps went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Wildcats in hits.

The Wildcats collected 4 RBIs in the game. Jalin Lavers, India Downs, Addison Mackey, and Tenley Canfield each had RBIs for the Wildcats.

Mulvane stole 7 bases during the game with Madison Phipps, Jalin Lavers, and Haley Chambers all grabbing stolen bases.

The Wildcats will face the Clearwater Indians tomorrow at Mulvane starting at 4:30 PM.
