The Mulvane girls basketball team closed out the regular season, face Winfield in sub-state game.

The girls basketball teams closed out the regular season this week as they faced Collegiate in a make-up game, Clearwater, and Andale. The girls fell in all three games and finished their regular season 3-17 and 0-10 in league play. The JV team finished the season with a 7-9 record and the C-team finished with a 2-11 record. The girls will face the Winfield Vikings in the sub-state play-in game today at 1:00 PM @ Winfield.

Andale jumped out ahead of the girls in the first quarter 16-9. The girls won the second quarter but were behind at halftime 21-25. The Cats lost the third quarter and were behind 28-42 going into the fourth. The Cats lost the fourth quarter and fell 33-52 to Andale. Kaitlyn Klein led the girls with 13 points on the evening.

The JV had trouble getting points to fall against Andale as they fell 25-51. The girls fell behind in the first quarter 8-12. The Ladycats lost the second quarter and were behind at halftime 15-32. The Ladycats lost the third quarter and were behind 19-44 going into the fourth. The Cats lost the fourth quarter and fell 25-51 to Andale. Haley Shaw led the girls with 8 points on the evening.

The C-Team had trouble breaking through the Andale defense all evening as they fell 34-47. The girls and Andale were tied after the first quarter 9-9. The Ladycats were outscored in second quarter and were behind at halftime 13-19. The Ladycats won the third quarter but went into the fourth down 25-28. The Cats lost the fourth quarter and fell 34-47 to Andale. Amber Hively led the Ladycats with 13 points on the evening.

The Cats were outscored in the second quarter and were behind at halftime 13-33. The Cats lost the third quarter and were behind 26-52 going into the fourth. The Ladycats lost the fourth quarter and fell 32-61 to Clearwater. Kaitlyn Klein led the girls with 9 points on the evening.

The JV team took care of business as they kept Clearwater at bay all game long. The Cats took the 9-1 lead in the first quarter. The girls won the second quarter and won the half-game 25-4.  Amber Hansen led the Ladycats with 9 points on the evening.

The C-Team team faced a tough Clearwater team and the game came down to just 1 point and the girls fell 30-31. The girls took the 5-4 lead in the first quarter. The Cats won the second quarter and were ahead at halftime 13-10. The third quarter was even and the Cats were ahead 20-17 going into the fourth. The girls lost the fourth quarter and fell 30-31 to Clearwater. Madison Shaw led the girls with 10 points on the evening.

A tough third quarter doomed the varsity as they fell 28-40 to Collegiate. The Cats jumped out ahead in the first quarter with a 9-5 lead. The girls were outscored in the second quarter and went into halftime tied 17-17. The girls lost the third quarter and were behind 24-34 going into the fourth. The girls lost the fourth quarter and fell 28-40 to Collegiate. Kaitlyn Klein and Karlie Kanaga led the girls with 8 points each on the evening.
