The Mulvane Middle School girls basketball teams hosted the Prairie Hills Crusaders last Thursday, November 5th for their second games of the season. The tough Crusaders got the best of the Wildcats in 3 of the 4 games with the 7th grade B team with the only win of the evening, but the Wildcats fought tough with some close games.

* Kylie Schwanke - 6 points
* Teagan Heersche - 5 points
* Grace Carpenter - 4 points
* Kinley Kendrick - 4 points
* Jaryn Baker - 3 points

"The Prairie Hills A team was very physical which caused us problems throughout the entire game. The girls battled tough in the second quarter to make it a 1 point game at half time. Prairie Hills came out strong in the 3rd quarter, outscoring us 10-4. We were never able to make the stops to regain that 6 points," said Coach Hansen.

"The girls could not get shots to fall in the varsity game shooting 10/47 from the field (21.3%). Prairie Hills played a tight zone which challenged us to make shots from the outside. While we had a lot of great looks we couldn't get shots to fall," said Coach Hansen

"Prairie Hills was the tougher team tonight, we look forward to playing them later this season," said Hansen

* Elle Everhart - 8 points
* Sadie Williams - 4 points
* Adriah Dedeaux - 2 points

"The B-girls started out very slow, not scoring a basket in the first quarter. Coach Hargrove made a few adjustments in the second half attempting to pressure the ball in the full court. The girl's defensive intensity led to several points off of turnovers. The leadership and hustle of Peryton Seibel and Elle Everhart willed the girls back into the game in the third quarter," said Coach Hansen.

"Everhart ended the game with 8 points and 8 rebounds. Seibel had a crucial block in the last minute of the game which saved us from allowing an easy look at the basket. Adriah Dedeaux scored late in the fourth quarter to give the girls the lead and together the girls were able to find a way to win against a very tough opponent," said Coach Hansen
