The Mulvane girls basketball team faced a couple tough opponents last week, fall to Indians and Thunderbirds.

The Mulvane girl's basketball team hosted the Andale Indians last week and the varsity girl's game was a tale of two quarters as the Wildcats were even with Andale in the second and fourth quarters, but a tough first and third quarters spelled trouble for the Cats as they fell 34-53. Teagan Garrison led the Ladycats with 14 points in the game and Ashley Young led the Cats on the boards with 6 rebounds.

The JV girls jumped out ahead in the first quarter 15-8, but the Indians took control of the rest of the game as the Cats fell 29-40. Rylee Dieker led the Ladycats with 7 points on the evening. The Fr/So had trouble breaking through the Andale defense all evening as they fell 11-52. Jaryn Baker led the girls with 4 points on the evening.

The Wildcats traveled to Circle last Friday for a league matchup against the Thunderbirds. The Cats fell behind in the first quarter and could not make up the points the rest of the game as they fell 32-48 to move to 7-9 on the season. Senior Ashley Young led the Cats with 8 points in the game as well as on the boards with 10 rebounds.

The JV girls were even in the first and third quarters but had trouble in the second and fourth quarters as they fell 34-47. Kierra Cain led the Cats with 15 points in the game. The Fr/So girls jumped out ahead in the first quarter with a 14-10 lead but the Thunderbirds took the rest of the game as the Cats fell 28-47. Kylie Schwanke led the Cats with 12 points in the contest.
