The 8th grade girls are Patriot League back-to-back champions. Finish MMS career with a 28-1 record.

The 8th-grade girls finished their regular season last Thursday with a 61-13 win over Haysville, and then the girls set their sights on the Patriot League Tournament held last Saturday and Monday. The girls won the 7th-grade tournament last year and looked to finish their MMS careers as 2-time champs. The Cats received a bye in the first round and then faced Rose Hill in their one game on Saturday. The Wildcats wasted no time and jumped out to a 15-0 lead in the first quarter and finished the game with a 41-11 win. Juliana Holman led the Cats with 17 points, with 5 3-pointers, in the game.

The Wildcats hosted Winfield on Monday for the Patriot League championship game. The teams got out to a slow start in the game, going into halftime up 13-11. The Cats defense came out strong in the second half, holding Winfield scoreless in the third quarter, and finished the fourth quarter 11-5, winning the championship game 30-16. Brittani Peschel led the girls with 13 points on the evening and Kaitlyn Paul dropped in 12 points in the game.

The 8A team finished the season with a 13-1 record (and their MMS career with a 28-1 record), 5-0 in league play, and were the Patriot League Tournament champions for the second year in a row. The team finished with 617 points and held their opponents to just 221 points. The Cats were led by Brittani Peschel who finished with 197 points and 14.1 points per game, assists with 65, and steals with 56. Kaitlyn Paul led the team in rebounds this year with 72 boards and blocks with 19.

The 8B girls finished their season with a record of 9-3 and went 3-2 in league play. The Cats finished with 287 points as a team and held their opponents to 197 points. The Wildcats were led by Addilyn Williams who finished the season with 79 points for an average of 6.6 points per game.
