The MMS girls basketball teams get 6 wins over Circle and Clearwater in week 5.

The Middle School girl's basketball teams were on the road all last week as they traveled to Circle on Tuesday and Clearwater on Thursday. The 8A team took care of business against Circle on Tuesday, holding the Thunderbirds to just 7 points. The Wildcats had the first half in control as they went into halftime up 29-2 and finished strong for the 44-7 win. Brittani Peschel led the Wildcats with 17 points on the evening and Juliana Holman broke into double digits with 10 points.

The 8B team had a much closer game with Circle but the Cats came out on top 19-14. The first half was a defensive battle and the Cats went into halftime down 4-6. The Wildcats bounced back in the second half, outscoring Circle 15-8, and got the 19-14 win. Addilyn Williams led the Cats with 6 points in the contest.

It was a hard-fought game between both teams as the 7A team faced Circle and the Cats came out on top 26-22. The Cats fell behind in the first half, going into halftime down 7-13. The girls closed out the second half of the game by outscoring Circle 19-9 and got the win 26-22. Jillian Heersche led the girls with 14 points on the evening.

The 7B team faced a tough Circle team and the game came down to just 1 point and the Cats fell 17-18. Circle jumped out ahead of the Cats in the first quarter. The girls won the second quarter and were ahead at halftime 8-7. The Cats won the third quarter and went into the fourth up 11-9. The Cats lost the fourth quarter and fell 17-18 to Circle. Reese Noell led the Wildcats with 7 points in the game.

Thursday took the Wildcats to Clearwater and the 8A team had no trouble against the Indians as they won the game 61-11. The Cats jumped out ahead in the first quarter with a 19-6 lead. The Cats outscored Clearwater in the second quarter and were ahead at halftime 39-8. The second half was smooth sailing for the Wildcats and they got the 61-11 win. Brittani Peschel led the Wildcats with 19 points in the game and Kaitlyn Paul dropped in 18 points as well.

The 8B team took care of business as well, holding the Indians to just 6 points in the first three quarters and finishing strong for the 29-10 win.  Jocelyn Bauer led the Wildcats with 14 points on the evening.

It was a nail-biter of a game as the 7A team and Clearwater were both struggling to get the points to drop and the girls fell 13-16. The Cats took the lead during the first half, going into halftime up 6-5. The Wildcats were outscored in the second half 7-11 and fell 13-16. Jayde Lasiter and Adalynn Boor led the Cats with 4 points each on the evening.

The 7B team had no trouble against Clearwater as the defense held Clearwater to just 4 points in the game, winning 20-4. Lyllie Brunnelson led the Cats with 10 points in the contest.

The 8A girls are sitting at 9-1 on the year and 5-0 in league play. The 8B girls are sitting at 7-3 on the year and 3-2 in league play. The 7A girls are sitting at 7-3 on the year and 3-2 in league play. The 7B girls are sitting at 9-1 on the year and 5-0 in league play. 

The Wildcats will be back on the court at home on Monday, December 4th, hosting the El Dorado Wildcats.
