The MMS girls basketball went 8-0 in week 2 as they faced Prairie Hills and Rose Hill.

The Mulvane Middle School girls basketball was home all last week as they hosted Prairie Hills and Rose Hill in week 2. The 8A girls jumped out quickly against Prairie Hills on Monday with a 16-6 lead at halftime and continued the pressure in the second half for the 41-24 win. Brittani Peschel and Kaitlyn Paul led the girls with 9 points each on the evening and Halle Ensley dropped in 8 points as well.

The 8B team blanked the Crusaders in the first quarter and went into halftime with a 14-4 lead. The second half was pretty even between the teams but the Wildcats got the 28-16 win. Addilyn Williams led the Cats with 9 points in the game.

The 7A team took care of business as they kept Prairie Hills at bay all game long. The Wildcats took the 9-4 lead in the first quarter and exploded in the second quarter with a 10-0 run. It was all Wildcats in the second half and the girls got the 39-9 win. Jillian Heersche led the girls with 15 points on the evening and Adalynn Boor broke into double digits with 12 points.

The 7B team had no trouble against Prairie Hills as they won the game 19-8. The Cats took the lead during the first half, going into halftime up 15-2. Prairie Hills held the Cats at bay in the second half, but the Cats were able to come out with the win with a final score of 19-8. Layla Myers led the Wildcats with 8 points on the night.

The Wildcats hosted the Rose Hill Rockets on Thursday and the 8A team had no trouble against Rose Hill as they won the game 50-13. The Cats jumped out ahead in the first half with a 31-7 lead at halftime. Rose Hill was not able to hang with the Wildcats in the second half and the Wildcats got the 50-13 win. Brittani Peschel and Kaitlyn Paul both had monster games, both with 19 points each in the game.

The 8B team outscored the Rockets in the first and third quarters by 11 points and that was the margin of victory as the girls won 27-16. Addilyn Williams and Jadea Sheppard led the Wildcats with 8 points each on the night.

The 7A team with their relentless defense had no trouble against Rose Hill as they won the game 51-9. The girls jumped out ahead in the first half with a 25-5 lead at halftime. The Wildcats closed out the second half of the game by outscoring Rose Hill 26-4 and got the win 51-9. Jayde Lasiter led the Cats with 15 points and Jillian Heersche broke into double digits with 14 points.

The 7B team had the same outcome against Rose Hill as they won the game 38-6. The Wildcats took the lead during the first half, going into halftime up 30-2. The Wildcats closed out the second half of the game by outscoring Rose Hill 8-4 and got the win 38-6. Lyllie Brunnelson led the Cats with 13 points and Jayde Lasiter dropped in 10 points. Myka Rees finished with 9 point as well.

The 8A, 8B, and 7A girls are all sitting at 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in league play. The 7B girls are 4-0 and 1-0 on the year. The Wildcats will be back in action on Monday, November 13th on the road at Wellington.
