The Mulvane varsity football team traveled to McPherson on Friday, October 27, 2023, for their first game of the 4A State tournament. The Wildcats had just faced the Bullpups two games earlier in the season, falling 10-28. The Bullpups held the Wildcats out of the endzone in the second matchup until the 4th quarter as the Wildcats fell 7-41, ending their 2023 season.
The Wildcat's offense finished the game with 268 total yards on 63 plays with 109 yards rushing and 159 yards passing. Manny Myers finished with 118 yards on 15 completions out of 22 attempts and 1 passing TDs. Manny Myers finished with 70 yards rushing on 19 attempts. Brayden Tatum finished with 58 yards receiving on 2 receptions.
The Wildcat's defense was led by Kaiden Abasolo finished with 5 tackles (3 solo - 2 assist), 1.0 tackles for loss, and 1.0 sacks. Dylan Rogers finished with 5 tackles (4 solo - 1 assist). Garrett Olson finished with 4 tackles (3 solo - 1 assist). Tucker Hargrove finished with 3 tackles (2 solo - 1 assist). Austin Vanderhoof finished with 3 tackles (2 solo - 1 assist).

The Wildcats finished the season with a 3-6 record and 1-4 in AVCTL D3 league play. The Cats scored 195 points this season and averaged 21.7 points per game. They finished with 2898 total yards (1587 passing and 1311 rushing) with an average of 322 yards per game. Quarterback Manny Myers finished the season with 120 completions for 1468 yards passing with 13 touchdowns. Fisher Dye led the Cats in rushing with 709 yards on 134 attempts and 6 rushing TDs. Manny Myers finished with 578 yards on 111 attempts and 4 rushing TDs. Lucas Sorensen led the Cats in receptions with 37 for 573 yards and 7 TD receptions. Senior Kicker Aiden McKee finished with a perfect 23 for 23 extra point attempts and had 4 field goals on the year. Senior Kaiden Abasolo led the Wildcat's defense with 72 tackles (36 solo - 36 assist) and had 14.0 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.
