The Wildcats celebrated homecoming last Friday. Hargrove and Mackey crowned King and Queen. Cats fall to Vikings.

The Mulvane varsity football team hosted Winfield on Friday, October 6, 2023, for a league matchup against the Vikings and also the 2023 fall homecoming game. It was a tale of turnovers for the Wildcats in the first half as the Vikings were able to capitalize on two of those for fumble recovery for TDs. The Wildcats got on the board in the first quarter with a 28-yard field goal by Aiden McKee. The Wildcat defense clamped down in the second half, not allowing any scores by Winfield, but the Cats were only able to find the endzone once in the third quarter with a nice 45-yard TD pass from Manny Myers to Brayden Tatum. The final score was 9-27.

The Wildcat's offense finished the game with 377 total yards on 56 plays with 164 yards rushing and 213 yards passing. Manny Myers finished with 213 yards on 11 completions out of 26 attempts and 1 passing TD. Manny Myers finished with 90 yards rushing on 14 attempts and Fisher Dye finished with 74 yards on 15 carries. Kaiden Abasolo finished with 89 yards receiving on 4 receptions and Brayden Tatum finished with 45 yards on one reception and 1 TD. Shannon Fuller had 45 yards on 2 receptions, Lucas Sorensen had 26 yards on 3 receptions, and Gavin Wayman had 8 yards on 1 reception.

The Wildcat's defense was led by Dylan Rogers finished with 11 tackles (4 solo - 7 assist). Hays Ensley finished with 10 tackles (4 solo - 6 assist), 1.5 tackles for loss, and 1.0 sacks. Tucker Hargrove finished with 9 tackles (2 solo - 7 assist) and 0.5 tackles for loss. Garrett Olson finished with 9 tackles (0 solo - 9 assist) and 0.5 tackles for loss. Reed Hackleman finished with 8 tackles (5 solo - 3 assist), 0.5 tackles for loss, and 1.0 sacks.

The Wildcats celebrated the 2023 Fall Homecoming during halftime. The homecoming candidates were Matthew Eggleston, Haley Myers, Aiden McKee, Addison Mackey, Tucker Hargrove, Katelyn Wyant, Garrett Olson, and Abigail Malanchuk. The 2023 Fall Homecoming King is Tucker Hargrove and the queen is Addison Mackey.

The JV squad traveled to Winfield on Monday, October 9th, and had quite an exciting game. The Vikings got on the board first in the first quarter, but the Cats got on the board as well with a 55-yard TD run by Kurtis Caruthers. Both teams were scoreless in the second quarter. After halftime is when things started heating up. The Vikings dropped in 14 points in the third quarter and 6 points in the fourth and the Cats found themselves down 8 to 28. The Wildcats went to work and Hunter Landis scored on a 69-yard run. Then Grady Myers scored on a 17-yard run with a 2-point conversion. The Cats scored again with a 75-yard pass from Grady Myers to Kurtis Caruthers with 4 seconds left on the scoreboard. The Wildcats recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff and Tanner Hargrove ran the fumble recovery to the endzone for a TD, securing a 36-28 Wildcat win.
