The Mulvane Middle School football teams were on the road in week 2 of season play, traveling to Winfield on Thursday, September 7th. The 8th-grade boys were firing on all cylinders as they won handily 34-0. Tavion Richardson kicked off the scoring for the Wildcats with a 4-yard run in the first quarter. Keaton Grizzle added to the Wildcats score with a 6-yard run in the second quarter and Richardson found the endzone again with a nice 65-yard run as the Cats went into halftime up 20-0.
Jeter Tatum found Kane Cuthbertson for a nice 52-yard TD pass in the fourth quarter and Tysen Rhodes rounded out the Mulvane scores with a 10-yard TD run and the Cats defense blanked the Vikings for the 34-0 win "We played a solid four quarters of football," said Coach Beikman. "Everyone contributed to this winning effort and I felt we made improvements from week one."

The 7th-grade game was a defensive battle as the teams combined for 18 points. The Wildcats found the endzone one time as Hollis Ensley scored on a 4-yard run in the second quarter, but the Cats fell 6-12 in the game. "It was a warm night and our kids got a little worn out," said Coach Beikman. "They played their hearts out, but a couple of plays didn’t go our way and they cost us the win in a tight game."
