The Cats sweep the Indians behind strong pitching and a couple homeruns from Phipps and Mackey.

The Mulvane softball team traveled to Clearwater on Monday, April 17th for a non-league matchup against the Indians. The Cats jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and finished strong for a 9-0 win. Lavers was dynamite in the circle and earned the win for the Cats. She tossed seven innings, giving up zero runs, three hits, walking three, and fifteen strikeouts, the most strikeouts in a game since Taylor Parsons recorded 18 in a game in 2010.

Mulvane had 14 hits in the game. Addison Mackey, Madison Phipps, Avrie Warner, Emma Kendrick, Makaylen Warner, Olivia Ellis, India Downs, and Regan Witt each had hits in the game for the Mulvane Wildcats. Addison Mackey went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead the Wildcats in hits. Addison Mackey and Madison Phipps both had home runs in the game.

Mulvane had 7 RBIs in the game and Addison Mackey knocked in 3 runners to lead the Wildcats in RBIs. Madison Phipps, Avrie Warner, and India Downs also had RBIs for the Mulvane Wildcats.

Avrie Warner recorded the only stolen base for the Cats.

The Cats took care of business in game 2 as well as the Cats scored in all but two innings and finished strong with an 8-1 win.  Peyton Baggett earned the win for the Cats. She tossed five innings, giving up zero hits runs, three hits, walking zero hits, and five strikeouts. Lavers came back in for relief for two innings and gave up one run, one hit, and three strikeouts.

The Cats grabbed 10 hits in the game. Makaylen Warner, Addison Mackey, Olivia Ellis, Regan Witt, Avrie Warner, and India Downs each grabbed hits in the game for the Mulvane Wildcats. Makaylen Warner went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead the Wildcats in hits.

The Cats grabbed 7 RBIs in the game and Avrie Warner and Addison Mackey both had 2 RBIs to lead the Cats. Avrie Warner, Addison Mackey, Makaylen Warner, Olivia Ellis, and India Downs also recorded RBIs for the Mulvane Wildcats.

The girls are sitting at 11-1 on the season and 5-1 in league play after splitting with Augusta the previous week. The girls are looking to finish strong in the back half of the season and will face Circle on Monday, April 24th.
