The Mulvane softball team remains undefeated after sweep of Rose Hill and El Dorado.

The Mulvane High School softball girls extended their undefeated season to 8-0 on Thursday as they hosted the Rose Hill Rockets (both teams entered the doubleheader with 6-0 records) and came out on top with wins of 3-2 and 9-4 and also swept El Dorado on Monday 10-5 and 7-6. The Cats are sitting at 8-0 on the season and 4-0 in league play.

In game 1 versus Rose Hill, the Wildcats jumped out ahead with 2 runs scored in the first inning and added on another run in the third inning. The Rockets were able to score 2 runs in the 6th inning, but the Cats were able to hold on for the 3-2 win.  Lavers earned the win for the Mulvane Wildcats. She tossed seven innings, giving up two runs, seven hits, walking three, and nine strikeouts.

Madison Phipps went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Mulvane in hits and the Cats as a team finished with five hits. Jalin Lavers and Regan Witt had the other two hits in the game for the Cats. Lavers and Witt also had one RBI each for the Wildcats.

In game 2 versus Rose Hill, the Wildcats scored 4 runs in the first inning and added another in the second inning. The Cats cruised through the game, adding 4 more runs for the 9-4 win. Peyton Baggett earned the win for the Wildcats. She tossed five and 1/3 innings, giving up three runs, eight hits, and walking one. Lavers came in for relief in the sixth inning and pitched one and 2/3 innings, giving up one run, one hit, walking one, and three strikeouts.

Madison Phipps, India Downs, and Regan Witt all had 2 hits to lead Mulvane and the Cats finished with nine hits as a team. India Downs and Jalin Lavers had 2 RBIs each to lead Mulvane and Addison Mackey also finished with one RBI.

The Wildcats traveled to El Dorado last Monday for a non-league matchup with the other Wildcats. The green Wildcats jumped out ahead in the second and third innings with nine runs and finished strong for the 10-5 win. Jalin Lavers earned the win for the Cats. She tossed seven innings, giving up five runs, three hits, walking five, and thirteen strikeouts.

Avrie Warner went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Cats in hits and the team finished with ten hits. Jalin Lavers, Addison Mackey, India Downs, Olivia Ellis, Madison Phipps, and Emma Kendrick each grabbed hits in the game for the Wildcats.

Avrie Warner and Olivia Ellis both had 3 RBIs to lead Mulvane and Emma Kendrick, Madison Phipps, and Makaylen Warner also had RBIs for the Wildcats. The Cats finished with 10 RBIs in the game.

In game 2, El Dorado jumped out ahead in the first inning with 2 runs, but the Cats rectified the situation with 2 runs in the third and 5 runs in the fourth inning. El Dorado made a comeback in the last couple of innings, but Mulvane held on for the 7-6 win. Peyton Baggett earned the win for the Cats. She tossed six and 1/3 innings, giving up six runs, six hits, walking zero, and three strikeouts. Jalin Lavers earned the save and pitched 2/3 innings, facing two batters and striking them both out.

Mulvane grabbed 6 hits in the game. Olivia Ellis, Emma Kendrick, Jalin Lavers, Addison Mackey, Regan Witt, and Makaylen Warner all finished with one hit each. Addison Mackey and Makaylen Warner both had two RBIs to lead Mulvane and the Cats had five RBIs total. Emma Kendrick had one RBI as well.
