The Women's Cross Country team are Regional Champs and heading to State in Wamego.

The Cross Country regular season has come to a close and with the AVCTL Division 4 League Championship already secured by the Women's team, the 4A Regional meet was next up for the Mulvane Wildcats. The meet was held this morning in El Dorado and the ladies came home with the Regional championship, securing a spot in the 4A State Meet, as well as three individual regional medalists.

The Mulvane medalists were led by junior Anna Moon who finished in 7th place with a time of 21:36.11 followed by junior Campbell Williams in 8th place with a time of 21:55.09 and senior Emily Hankins in 9th place with a time of 21:55.50. Senior Josie Russell was next in 16th place with a time of 22:49.92 followed by sophomore Kaitlyn Frieden in 17th place with a time of 22:51.36, sophomore Kamryn Nolan in 38th place with a time of 24:58.39, and senior Karstyn Nolan in 41st place with a time of 25:42.19.

The team scoring is determined by the first five finishes and the Mulvane scores were 6, 7, 8, 14, and 15 for a total of 50 points. The final women's team results were as follows:

1. Mulvane - 50 (6-7-8-14-15)
2. Augusta - 52 (2-4-10-13-23)
3. Circle - 68 (5-12-16-17-18)
4. Rose Hill - 74 (1-11-19-21-22)
5. Wamego - 95 (3-9-24-29-30)
6. Topeka-Hayden - 146 (20-25-26-36-39)

The Mulvane Men's team finished in 6th place with a team score of 176 and were led by freshman Chris Dietrich in 25th place with a time of 18:41.89 followed by junior Kyle Jones in 32nd place with a time of 19:12.55, senior Justus Kidd in 34th place with a time of 19:20.41, sophomore Victor Salazar in 38th place with a time of 19:43.81, sophomore Jacob Duncan in 47th place with a time of 20:38.59, senior Rob Brown in 49th place with a time of 20:42.08, and senior Clement Heck in 55th place with a time of 21:42.21.

The final men's team results were as follows:

1. Wamego - 50 (5 7 8 13 17)
2. Circle - 66 (9 11 12 16 18)
3. Winfield - 70 (2 4 14 15 35)
4. Topeka-Hayden - 77 (1 6 19 22 29)
5. Augusta - 137 (3 28 30 36 40)
6. Mulvane - 176 (25 32 34 38 47)
7. Rose Hill - 176 (24 27 31 43 51)
8. El Dorado - 180 (10 23 37 52 58)
9. Wellington - 236 (39 45 46 50 56)

The 4A State meet will be held on November 2nd at the Wamego Country Club. The 4A Women's race will start at 12:20 PM.
