The Mulvane Cross Country team participated in the AVCTL Division 4 League Meet at Gary Wartick's Farm in El Dorado yesterday and the Women's team brought home the AVCTL D4 League Championship for the 4th year in a row. The Men's team finished in 4th place.
The ladies team was led by junior Anna Moon who finished in 3rd place with a 22:04.05 time and a 4:24.81 average mile. Just behind Anna was junior Campbell Williams who finished in 4th place with a 22:05.05 time and a 4:25.01 average mile. Senior Emily Hankins was not far behind as she finished in 5th place with a 22:39.14 time and a 4:31.82 mile average. Anna, Campbell, and Emily all earned AVCTL D4 All League 1st Team honors.
Senior Josie Russell finished in 8th place with a 22:58.71 time (4:35.74 mile avg) followed by sophomore Kaitlyn Frieden with a 23:16.46 time (4:39.29 mile avg). Josie and Kaitlyn earned AVCTL D4 All League 2nd Team honors. Senior Karstyn Nolan finished in 22nd place with a 25:05.71 time (5:01.14 mile avg) and sophomore Kamryn Nolan finished in 26th place with a 25:18.84 time (5:03.76 mile avg).
The Women's team finished the meet with 31 points (3-4-5-8-11) and topped Rose Hill (50 pts), Andale (56 pts), Clearwater (107 pts), and Collegiate (123 pts).
The men's team was led by freshman Chris Dietrich who finished in 8th place with an 18:31.14 time and a 3:42.22 mile average. Just behind Chris was junior Kyle Jones who finished in 11th place with an 18:42.24 time and a 3:44.44 mile average. Chris and Kyle both earned AVCTL D4 All League 2nd Team honors.
Sophomore Victor Salazar finished in 18th place with a time of 19:22.93 (3:52.58 mile avg) followed by senior Justus Kidd in 27th place with a 20:11.81 time (4:02.36 mile avg), senior Clement Heck in 33rd place with a 20:33.74 time (4:06.74 mile avg), senior Robby Brown in 38th place with a 21:19.55 time (4:15.91 mile avg), and freshman Owen Griffie in 39th place with a 21:31.24 time (4:18.24 mile avg).
The Men's varsity results were Clearwater in 1st place with 34 points followed by Collegiate (59 pts), Andale (60 pts), Mulvane (97 points), Rose Hill (106 pts), and Wellington (159 pts).
The Men's JV team did not have enough runners for a team score, but sophomore Jacob Duncan finished in 10th place with a 21:12.14 (4:14.42 mile avg) and earned a JV medal. Senior Connor Hurley finished in 18th place with a 21:51.58 time (4:22.31 mile avg). The JV girls did not have any runners in the JV race.

The Wildcats will participate in the 4A Regional meet at El Dorado State Park - Bluestem Point on Saturday, October 26th with the first races kicking off at 10:00 AM.
