Senior Mattie Ewing Earned Her First Medal of the Season at the Cheney Invitational

The Mulvane Women's Golf team traveled to Cherry Oaks golf course on Sept. 23rd for the Cheney invitational. Senior Mattie Ewing and Junior Shyra Herrman made up the varsity squad this round for Coach Headrick. Ewing, a State qualifier last year, finished in 10 place for her first varsity medal of the 2019-20 season after shooting a 103. Herrman shot a 125 for 28th place out of the 42 golfers.

Mulvane did not have enough players for a team score and Andale finished in 1st place with a 371 team score. The 1st place medalist for the round was Morgan Brasser from Andale with a 68.

The Wildcats traveled to Prairie Trails golf course for the El Dorado invitational yesterday for the Circle Invitational. All 5 of Headrick's golfers participated in the 9 hole round and Freshman Brooklyn Loveless lead the cats with a 55 for 16th place out of 53 participants. Mattie Ewing finished in 25th place with a round of 58, Shyra Herrman finished in 26th place with a round of 59, Senior Maria Rodriguez finished in 41st place with a round of 69, and Sophomore Jorja Knodel finished in 50th place with a round of 75.

As a team, Mulvane finished in 7th place out of 10 with a score of 241. Circle came in 1st place with a round of 198 and Wellington's Payton Ginter finished in 1st place individually with a 41.

The Cats will travel to Cherry Oaks golf course in Cheney on Monday, September 30th for the Andale Invitational with a  1:00 PM tee time.
