Not only did Mulvane Soccer open up their season against El Dorado with a commanding 8-0 win, but German foreign exchange student Noah Maas set a new school record for most goals in one game with 6. This record was originally set by Brad Woelk at 5 goals back in 2007 and Tyler Wright in 2013.
“I didn’t know it was a record until they told me after the game, and when I found out it was an amazing feeling,” said Maas. Back home, Noah mainly played field hockey. So this was his first game of soccer at a competitive level.
Kelton Boster and Larry Canup each scored a goal in the game and goalkeeper Jesse Velotta recorded the shutout.
The JV team lost 0-1 in a close game against El Dorado.
The 2019 Soccer team is coached by Jesse Myers and new assistant coach Taylor Kegley. The managers are Gabe Daniel and Shyanne Robertson. The 2019 roster is as follows:
