Senior Kyle Smith is 10-0 After Two Invitationals and One Dual

Mulvane Senior Kyle Smith has been on fire since the Wrestling season started at the Campus Invitational on December 1st. Smith, who has been wrestling in the 285 lb weight class, is currently 10-0 and has 9 pins and 1 win by decision. Kyle took 1st place in his weight class this past Saturday at the Wellington Invitational by going 5-0 and pinning every opponent.

* Round 1 - Kyle Smith won by fall over Isaiah Lolar (Winfield)
* Round 2 - Kyle Smith won by fall over Jordan Mitchell (Wichita West)
* Round 3 - Kyle Smith won by fall over Bishop Britt (Wichita North)
* Round 4 - Kyle Smith won by fall over Jordon Montemayor (Rose Hill)
* Round 5 - Kyle Smith won by fall over Ethan Wilkins (Salina Central)

Other Wildcats that placed in the Invitational were: Hunter Dietrich (5th Place), Chadwick Stahl (3rd Place), Trent Moses (3rd Place), Zachary Iverson (3rd Place), Koen Schanz (4th Place), James Reames (4th Place), and Jaxen Young (2nd Place)

This past week on Thursday December 6th, Mulvane faced off against Rose Hill in a Dual at Mulvane High School. Kyle made quick work of his opponent Jordan Montemajor with a pin in less than 20 seconds in the first round. Mulvane as a team fell to Rose Hill in points (33-40) when it was all said and done. Chadwick Stahl (120), Zach Iverson (138), Koen Schanz (145), James Reames (152), and Jaxon Young (195) also grabbed wins against Rose Hill.

Mulvane started the season off at the Campus Invitational on Dec. 1st. Kyle went 4-0 with 3 pins and 1 decision.

* Kyle Smith won by fall over Johnathan D. (Junction City)
* Kyle Smith won by decision over Logan S. (Hays)
* Kyle Smith won by fall over Jacob B. (Campus)

The Wildcats as a team went 1-3 in the four duals versus West (42-28), Junction City (27-47), Campus (34-48), and Hays (19-55).

Sophomore Chadwick Stahl is also having a great season so far and is currently 9-1 followed by Zach Iverson (8-3), Trent Moses (7-3), James Reames (6-4), Koen Schanz (4-5), Hunter Dietrich (4-5), Jon Meek (4-5), Jaxen Young (4-5), and Jace Moberg (2-4).

The Wildcats will travel to Andale this Thursday for a Dual versus the Indians. Starting time is 6:00 PM.
