The Middle School football teams firing on all cylinders as they sweep the Rose Hill Rockets.

The 8th-grade team continued it's undefeated season sitting at 4-0 and 2-0 in league play. They wasted no time with the Rockets as quarterback Aiden Heckathorn found Brady Nelson for a 25-yard TD pass in the first quarter. Heckathorn and Fisher Dye found the endzone in the second quarter with 10 and 20 yard TD runs respectively to take a 24-6 lead at halftime.

Dye broke free for a nice 85-yard TD run in the third quarter and also connected with Heckathorn for a 33-yard TD reception in the fourth quarter. Gaelin Mason-Schmidt topped off the scoring with a 26-yard run to bring the game to a 46-18 close.

"We are firing on all cylinders right now and are able to capitalize on all parts of the game. The offense has been effective thus far and we are getting a lot of players involved in our offense. The defense continues to play well with two interceptions and tackles for loss. The boys are working hard and are enjoying the journey so far," said Coach Beikman.

The 7th-grade boys started the game in a defensive battle in the scoreless first quarter. The Cats broke into the endzone first when quarterback Manny Myers broke free for a 37-yard TD run. The Cats went into halftime with an 8-0 lead.

The third quarter was another scoreless defensive battle. The Cats scored again in the fourth quarter with another nice 33-yard TD run by Manny Myers. The Rockets scored in the fourth quarter but the Cats held on for the 16-6 win. The 7th graders are sitting at 3-1 on the season and 2-0 in league play.

"This game was a back and forth battle with the game being close most of the night. The boys were able to pull away at the end and secure the win. The players continue to overcome adversity and rise to the occasion,"  said Coach Beikman.

The Wildcats will face the Clearwater Indians next Thursday at Clearwater with the games starting at 5:00 PM.
