The men's basketball team faced Augusta in the sub-state championship game, fall to the Orioles.

The Mulvane boys basketball team traveled to Augusta on Saturday, March 7th for the sub-state championship game against the Orioles.

The first quarter was a defensive battle as the Orioles held the Cats to just 7 points. The Cats had trouble breaking through the Oriole's defense as they outsized the Cats in the paint. They were also hot from outside as they outscored the Wildcats 25-14 in the second quarter and the Cats were down 21-41 at halftime. The shots were not falling for Mulvane in the 2nd half and they fell 45-73 to end the season.

Trey Abasolo led the team with 20 points and Ian Comer finished with 13 points, Mason Ellis with 7 points, Gage Gerlach with 4 points, and Michael Manis with 1 point. Manis led the team with 7 rebounds.

Junior Trey Abasolo led the Cats in points,  rebounds, steals, and assists this season finishing with 504 points, 156 rebounds, 42 steals, and 60 assists. Senior Michael Manis finished the season with 197 points, 128 rebounds, and 17 assists. Sophomore Ian Comer finished the season with 183 points, 102 rebounds, 53 assists, and 28 steals. Sophomore Mason Ellis finished the season with 175 points, 55 rebounds, 27 assists, and 26 steals. Senior Gage Gerlach finished the season with 148 points, 70 rebounds, 16 assists, and 11 steals.

Trey Abasolo also notched the record board this year as he passed Jerry Webster in career free throws made. Trey currently has 248 free throws to surpass Jerry's 208.

The boys finished the season with a 10-12 record and 2-8 in the AVCTL Division 4 league.
