After a few days off due to the Chaparral tournament being canceled due to weather this past Tuesday, the Mulvane Wildcats wrestling team hit the road for Garden Plain Invitational on Friday, January 31st. The Wildcats dominated the mats and came home with 1st place as a team as well as 5 first-place finishes, 2 second-place finishes, and 3 third-place individual finishes.

Finishing in 1st place on the day was junior Chadwick Stahl in the 120 lb weight class, senior Jon Meek in the 182 lb weight class, senior Jaxen Young in the 195 lb weight class, junior Ethan McElravy in the 220 lb weight class, and junior Hunter Scott in the 285 lb weight class. Chadwick finished the day with 4 wins by fall and 1 win by technical fall. Jon finished the day with 2 wins by fall, a win by decision, a win by injury default, and a win by forfeit. Jaxon finished the day with all 5 wins by fall. Ethan finished the day with all 5 wins by fall. Hunter finished the day with all 5 wins by fall.

Finishing in 2nd place on the day was sophomore Hunter Dietrich in the 106 lb weight class and Trent Moses in the 132 lb weight class. Hunter finished with 3 wins by fall, a win by major decision and a loss by fall. Trent finished with a win by fall, 2 wins by major decision, 1 win by decision, and a loss by major decision.

Finishing in 3rd place on the day was freshman Trenton Davis in the 126 lb weight class, sophomore Mason Cooper in the 132 lb weight class, and freshman Chris Dietrich in the 152 lb weight class. Trenton finished the day with 1 win by fall, 2 wins by major decision, 1 win by decision, and 1 loss by major decision. Mason finished the day with 2 wins by fall, 1 win by decision, and 1 loss by fall. Chris finished the day with 1 win by fall, 1 win by decision, and 2 losses by fall.
