The Mulvane Middle School wrestling team traveled to Wellington on Saturday, December 14th for the Patriot League post season tournament and the Wildcats finished in 4th place with 146 points. Clearwater took 1st with 207 points followed by Prairie Hills with 203, Wellington with 149, Mulvane with 146, Haysville West with 116, and Rose Hill with 95.
Koehn Dietrich, Gaelin Mason-Schmidt, and Noah West were all tournament champions in their weight classes. Dietrich finished in 1st place in the 80 lb weight class with 4 wins by fall and 1 win by decision. Gaelin Mason-Schmidt finished in 1st place in the 134 lb weight class with 4 wins by fall. Noah West finished in 1st place in the 155 lb weight class with 4 wins by fall and one win by forfeit.
Austin Vanderhoof finished in 2nd place in the 165 lb weight class with 1 win by fall and 1 loss by fall. Will Perkins, Alex Dillon, Tucker Hargrove, and Fisher Dye all finished in 3rd place in the tournament. Perkins placed 3rd in the 85 lb weight class with 1 win by fall, 2 losses by decision, and 1 loss by major decision. Dillon finished 3rd in the 100 lb weight class with 1 win by fall, 2 wins by decision, 1 loss by fall, and 1 loss by decision. Hargrove finished in 3rd in the 105 lb weight class with 1 win by decision and 2 losses by fall. Dye finished in 3rd place in the 127 lb weight class with 1 win by decision,1 loss by fall, and 1 loss by decision.
