The 8th Grade Girls traveled to Circle for the mid-season shootout and split 2-2 against Circle and Augusta.

The Wildcats traveled to Circle for the mid-season shootout and faced off against cross division teams Circle and Augusta. Both 8th A and B girls split on the day as the 8th-A girls won 18-11 over Circle and lost 11-20 against Augusta and the 8th-B girls won 29-28 over Circle and lost 19-21 against Augusta.

Courtney Cross lead the Cats with 6 points against the Circle Thunderbirds. Avrie Warner and Madison Shaw both finished with 4 points each and Addison Mackey and Teagan Garrison both finished with 2 points each. The ladies defense did a fine job against Circle as they held them to only 11 points and only 2 points in the 2nd and 4th quarters.

Points were harder to come by in the game against Augusta and Madison Shaw finished with 5 points, Teagan Garrison with 4 points, and Courtney Cross finished with 2 points. The Wildcats went into halftime with a 1 point lead but had some trouble in the 3rd quarter again and against the 2-3 zone and were outscored 11-6 in the 2nd half.

Madison Phipps lead the Cats with 12 points in the nail-biter 29-28 win over the Circle Thunderbirds. Kasey Dillon finished with 6 points, Justice Blake with 5 points, Elizabeth Blankenship with 4 points, and Katelynn Murray with 2 points. The Cats dominated the 1st half 20-11 but the Orioles outscored the Cats 17-9 in the 2nd half, but the Cats were able to hold on for the 1 point win.

It was another monster game for Phipps against Augusta as she finished with 16 of the 19 points for Mulvane. Mariah Cowin finished with 2 points and Kasey Dillon finished with 1 point. The Cats and Orioles were tied 12-12 at halftime but Augusta outscored Mulvane 9-4 in the 3rd quarter and the Cats just couldn't make up the points in the 4th even though their defense held them to 0 points.

The Wildcats will return to regular season action on Monday at home in a league game against Prairie Hills with games starting at 5:00 PM.
