The MMS Wildcat Wrestlers earn five 1st place and four second place medals to grab 2nd place overall at Haysville.

The Mulvane Middle School wrestling team traveled to Haysville on Saturday for the Haysville West Tournament and came away with lots of hardware. The Cats took 2nd place as a team with 164 points behind Winfield (199) and ahead of Circle (156), El Dorado (119), Rose Hill (57), and Haysville West (50).

In the 80 lb class, Koen Dietrich took 2nd place with a 3-1 record on the day with 3 wins by fall and a loss by major decision.  In the 85 lb class, Leiannah Landreth went a perfect 4-0 with 4 pins to grab 1st place. In the 90 lb class, Jonah Yates took 2nd place with a 3-1 record on the day with 3 wins by fall and a loss by fall. In the 95 lb class, Alex Dillon took 4th place with a 2-3 record on the day. In the 100 lb class, Cameron Hagerman took 2nd place with a 3-1 record on the day with 3 wins by fall and a loss by decision. Mulvane did not have a wrestler in the 105 or 110 lb classes.


In the 115 lb class, Jet Jorns took 4 place with a 1-3 record on the day. The Cats did not wrestle in the 120 lb class. In the 127 lb class, Fisher Dye took 1st place with a 4-0 record with 4 wins by fall on the day. In the 134 lb class, Gaelin Mason-Schmidt took 1st place with a 3-0 record with 3 wins by fall on the day. In the 141 lb class, Creighton Mason-Schmidt took 2nd place with a 1-1 record with 1 win by fall and 1 loss by fall. In the 148 lb class, Caven Martin took 3rd place with an 0-2 record on the day.  In the 155 lb class, Noah West took 1st place with a 4-0 record on the day with 3 wins by fall and 1 win by major decision.

In the 165 lb class, Austin Vanderhoof took 1st place with a 5-0 record on the day with all 5 wins by fall. Mulvane did not wrestle the 180, 215, or 265 lb classes.
