Coach Kollmeyer and the Wildcats Volleyball team traveled to Douglass this past Saturday, September 28th for the Douglass Invitational tournament. The Cats finished the tournament with a 2-3 record and got wins over Douglass (25-16 in game 1 and 25-20 in game 2) and Winfield (25-23, 23-25, 25-21). The Cats lost to Garden Plain (17-25, 15-25), Winfield (22-25, 19-25), and Hillsboro (15-25, 14-25).
Senior Lexie Abasolo was selected to Douglass Invitational All Tournament team. This is the second time in her high school career being selected to an all tournament team as she was selected to Douglass Invitational All Tournament team as a freshman in the 2016-17 season.
The Wildcats are now 4-19 on the season after battling through injuries and will be traveling to Winfield on Tuesday, October 1st for a triangular with Winfield and El Dorado. The JV team had the weekend off and is currently sitting at a 5-10 record and will also be traveling to Winfield on Tuesday.
The Freshman team, coached by Laura Canfield, traveled to Clearwater on Saturday for the Clearwater Invitational and came home with a 2nd place finish. The freshman Cats grabbed wins over Clearwater (27-25, 25-22), El Dorado (25-12, 25-19), and Collegiate (25-14, 23-25, 15-10), and lost to Andover Central (22-25, 28-26, 13-15), and Andover (23-25, 10-25). The freshman are currently 11-9 on the season and will be traveling to McPherson on Thursday, October 3rd for quadrangular with McPherson, Augusta, and Winfield.
