Soccer Snaps Losing Streak Against Circle But Falls short to Valley Center

The Boys Varsity team recently competed in the annual Ark City tournament. The Cats ended up playing Coffeyville, falling 6-1. Then they played Ark City falling 5-2, then to Augusta 5-2. 

Captain Joshua Miller had all 5 goals over the course of the tournament. 

JV participated in the Northwest Tournament, playing Wichita Northwest falling 11-1, and then Wichita Southeast falling 3-1. Ben Thorson had both goals. They closed out the tournament playing the Rose Hill Rockets falling 4-2, with Chance Brown and Diego Vega each having goals. 

Tuesday, September 17th the teams played their first home game of the year, and first game following their tournaments. JV won 1-0, with a late goal scored by Chrisitan Baltzley. Alex Dial and Logan Alcorn split the win in goal. Varsity won 4-0, with Noah Maas having 2 goals, and Captains Josh Miller and Cordell Church each having a goal and 2 assists, and Jesse Velotta recorded his 2nd shutout of the season in goal.

Then on Thursday, September 19th they squared off against Valley Center, JV fell 3-0, and then Varsity fell short 3-1, playing some of their best defense of the season keeping them off of the board in the first half. Cordell Church had the lone goal.

The Soccer team will travel to McPherson tomorrow September 24th for a JV and Varsity matchup. JV starts at 6:00 PM followed by Varsity around 7:30 PM.
