The Mulvane Track & Field team traveled to Andale yesterday as the weather forced the AVCTL Division 4 League Track Meet to be moved from Rose Hill. The Women's team finished the meet with 108 points and second place in league behind Andale (233 pts) and ahead of Rose Hill (76 pts), Wellington (75 pts), Clearwater (51 pts), and Collegiate (5 pts). The ladies finished in the top 3 in 11 events which is good for All League Honors.
Junior Josie Russell finished in 1st place in the 400 Meter Dash with a 1:04.11 time. Sophomore Anna Moon finished in 1st place in the 800 Meter Run with a 2:34.81 time and the 1600 Meter Run with a 5:53.92 time. Freshman Kaitlyn Frieden finished in 1st place in the 3200 Meter Run with a 13:38.38 time. Freshman Kloie Simons finished in 1st place in the Long Jump with a jump of 15 feet 11 inches. Anna Moon, Josie Russell, Sophomore Campbell Williams, and Junior Kaydran Russell finished in 1st place in the 4x800 Meter Relay with a time of 10:32.74.
Second place finishes for the Wildcats were Kaitlyn Frieden in the 1600 Meter Run (6:02.29) and Williams, Moon, Russell, and Russell in the 4x400 Meter Relay with a time of 4:28.53. Third place finishes for the Cats were Kaydran Russell in the 200 Meter Dash with a 28.03 time, Campbell Williams in the 800 Meter Run with a 2:42.96 time, and Freshman Addy Whistler in the High Jump with a jump of 4 feet 9 inches.
The Men's team finished the meet with 87 points and third place in league behind Andale (223 pts) and Wellington (93.5 pts) and ahead of Clearwater (86.5 pts), Rose Hill (54 pts), and Collegiate (10 pts). The men finished in the top 3 in 6 events which is good for All League Honors.
Junior Cole Diffenbaugh, Senior Caden Webb, and Senior Drew Ellis swept the podium in the 100 Meter Dash as Cole finished 1st with a time of 11.49 followed by Webb with a time of 11.56, and Ellis with a time of 11.69. Diffenbaugh also finished in 1st place in the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 23.51. These three, who were joined by CJ Johnson, also finished in 1st place in the 4x100 Meter Relay with a time of 43.67. Senior Ryan Roderick finished in 2nd place in the 800 Meter Run with a time of 2:08.59.

The Wildcats will travel to Chanute next Friday (5/17/2019) for the 2019 Regional Track Meet with field events beginning at 2:00 PM.
