MHS - Track & Field / March 17, 2019 By Kasey McDowell

Coach Dale Lades has not had ideal weather to start the 2019 track season. With a few cold outdoor and some indoor practices, the Mulvane Track & Field team has been doing its best to prepare for the upcoming season.

Mulvane has 30 girls (7 juniors, 8 sophomores, and 15 freshman) and 52 boys (13 seniors, 17 juniors, 9 sophomores, and 13 freshman) on the squad this year.

"We have 3/4ths of our Boys State Medalist 4x100 relay team returning along with alternates: Drew Ellis, CJ Johnson, Cole Diffenbaugh, Braden Webb, and Caden Webb" said coach Landes. "We also have 3/4th of our Girls State Medalist 4x800 relay team returning: Anna Moon, Josie Russell, and Campbell Williams."

Landes has some all league performers from last season returning as well:
* Josie Russell was 2018 All League in the 800 and 1600
* Campbell Williams was 2018 All League in the 400
* CJ Johnson was 2018 All League in the Triple Jump and 400
* Ryan Roderick was 2018 All League in the 1600
* Caden Webb was 2018 All League in the 200

Mulvane will kick off the track season by hosting El Dorado, Rose Hill, and Winfield in a home meet on Tuesday, Mar 26, 2019 at Lyle Couch Stadium with field events beginning at 3:00 PM with the Javelin, the remaining field events begin at 3:30 PM and the running events beginning at 5:00 PM.

Landes is assisted by coaches Robin Williams, Randy Fox, Denise Woods, and Kyle Just.
