Mallory Ashworth takes over head coaching duties of Mulvane Bowling

MHS - Bowling / December 16, 2018 By Kasey McDowell

The Mulvane Bowling team has enjoyed pretty good success the last 4 years as they have made several trips to state, both as a team and some individuals, earned some state medals including a state champion (Addy Schiffelbein - 2016-17), and a few league championships.  Coach Lance Heath, who took over the reigns in 2013-14 and was the 4-1A Coach of the Year for the 2017-18 season, retired from teaching and coaching and former assistant coach Mallory Ashworth has stepped into the head coaching position. Mulvane Grade School teacher Carolyn Day is the new assistant coach.

"I am looking forward to this year. Our boys have a strong group of seniors who are ready to lead them back to the state tournament. For the girls, we are focused on foundational skills and getting better every day. There is a lot of potential on both sides from our underclassman. It will be an exciting year." said Coach Ashworth.

The Girls team (2017-18 League Co-Champs) returns 2016-17 State Champion Addyson Schiffelbein (Senior) and the coaches will be looking to the returning underclassmen to rally around Addyson this season.
