Monday, Dec. 3, the Wildcats got their first win of the 2018-2019 season against Labette County, 80-70, in the T-Bird Classic at Circle High School.
Senior, Drew Ellis, had a game high 38 inching his way up the all time scoring list at Mulvane High School. Ellis is currently sitting at 1,089 points after two games and needs 87 points to take over 2nd place currently held by Lonnie Travis with 1,175 points. Sitting at the top is Jerry Webster at 1,218 points.
Sophomore, Trey Abasolo, finished with 17 pts. and 7 rebounds. The games top rebounder was Junior guard, Gage Gerlach who topped the Cats with 9 rebounds, 5 offensive boards and added in 12 pts. to go with it, nearly pulling off the double double for the Cats.
Senoir, Jeb Herrman and Junior, Michael Manis, both finished with 4 pts. Senior, Jalen Fluis had 3pts. and Tyler Lanzrath added 2pts. and 4 rebounds.
Next up in the Thunderbird Classic for the Cats on Thursday, Dec. 6, is Parsons High School, who defeated Collegiate in their first game matchup, and Saturday, Dec. 8, the Cats will face Independence High School.
