A split with Andale leaves both teams with a 7-3 league record and a share of the title.

The Mulvane Baseball team earned a share of the AVCTL D4 League title with a split with Andale on Thursday. Both teams finished the season with a 7-3 league record besting Collegiate (6-4), Clearwater (6-4), Wellington (4-6), and Rose Hill (0-10).

The Wildcats celebrated senior night by honoring the 6 seniors and their parents in between games. The seniors are Graeson Benefiel, Ethan Booe, Brett Nelson, Jayden Price, Kyler Vandergiesen, and Caleb Dameron.

GAME 1
Booe's Walkoff Gives Mulvane Wildcats Varsity Victory Over Andale/Garden Plain

It came down to the wire on Thursday, with Mulvane Wildcats Varsity taking victory on a dramatic walk-off single in the late innings that sealed their victory over Andale/Garden Plain. The game was tied at six with Mulvane Wildcats Varsity batting in the bottom of the seventh when Ethan Booe singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Brett Nelson led Mulvane Wildcats Varsity to victory by driving in four runs. He went 3-for-3 at the plate. Nelson drove in runs on a home run in the fifth and a single in the sixth.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Mulvane Wildcats Varsity tied things up at six when Nelson singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

Mulvane Wildcats Varsity put up three runs in the sixth inning. Jayden Price and Nelson powered the big inning with RBIs.
Graeson Benefiel toed the rubber for Mulvane Wildcats Varsity. He went five and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on seven hits and striking out nine.

Dylan Hahn got the start for Andale/Garden Plain. He lasted six and a third innings, allowing nine hits and six runs while striking out four. Hayden Horacek threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Mulvane Wildcats Varsity tallied 12 hits in the game. Matt Beyer, Nelson, Price, Gage Gerlach, and Booe all managed multiple hits for Mulvane Wildcats Varsity. Nelson and Beyer each collected three hits to lead Mulvane Wildcats Varsity. Mulvane Wildcats Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field. Nathan Klein had the most chances in the field with 11.

Andale/Garden Plain totaled seven hits in the game. Sam Savoie and Seth Bugner each had multiple hits for Andale/Garden Plain. Andale/Garden Plain was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Hunter Barbeau had the most chances in the field with nine.


GAME 2
Mulvane Wildcats Varsity's Strong Offense Not Enough To Secure Win Against Andale/Garden Plain

Both pitching staffs had their hands full on Thursday in a high-scoring affair where Andale/Garden Plain bested Mulvane Wildcats Varsity, 17-7.

The Mulvane Wildcats Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Andale/Garden Plain, giving up 17 runs.

Andale/Garden Plain opened up scoring in the first inning. Sam Savoie drove in one when he doubled.

In the bottom of the second inning, Mulvane Wildcats Varsity tied things up at two. Mulvane Wildcats Varsity scored one run when Caleb Dameron singled.

Andale/Garden Plain pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Caleb Hit doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Andale/Garden Plain scored six runs in the seventh inning. Andale/Garden Plain offense in the inning was led by Brandon Mude, Peyton Niemann, Rob Winter, Savoie, and Hit, who all drove in runs.

Savoie led things off on the hill for Andale/Garden Plain. He went two innings, allowing two runs on four hits and walking zero.

Kyler VanderGiesen got the start for Mulvane Wildcats Varsity. He went two and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on seven hits, striking out three and walking zero. Jayden Price, Matt Beyer, and Dameron each contributed in relief for Mulvane Wildcats Varsity.

Mulvane Wildcats Varsity collected 12 hits. VanderGiesen, Price, Nathan Klein, and Dameron each racked up multiple hits for Mulvane Wildcats Varsity. Price and VanderGiesen each managed three hits to lead Mulvane Wildcats Varsity. Mulvane Wildcats Varsity was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Klein made the most plays with eight.

Andale/Garden Plain totaled 23 hits. Hit, Michael Post, Savoie, Brody Cates, Winter, Seth Bugner, and Trevor Meyer all collected multiple hits for Andale/Garden Plain. Hit led Andale/Garden Plain with five hits in five at bats.
