The Mulvane Wildcats came back from a 7-19 deficit scoring 28 unanswered points to beat Wichita Collegiate 35-19 in the 2017 Homecoming game. The Cats scored first with a 55 yard pass from Jayden Price to Drew Ellis at the 4:54 mark in the 1st quarter. The Spartans scored 19 unanswered points in the 2nd quarter before a forced fumble and recovery by Jacob Walker on punt coverage gave Mulvane a short field. The Cats scored quickly with a 24 yard pass from Price to Ellis with 1:49 left in the 2nd quarter.  Mulvane got the ball back with a very short field after a forced fumble and recovery by Kole Long with 1:34 left in the 2nd quarter. The Wildcats scored quickly with a 3 yard run by Jayden Price and the Cats went into halftime with a 21-19 lead.

The Mulvane Defense took over in the 2nd half and shut the Spartans offense down. The Spartans possessions in the 2nd half resulted in 3 punts, an interception (Jayden Price), and 3 turnover on downs.  The Cats added 14 more points in the 2nd half with a 45 yard pass from Price to Ellis at the 7:11 mark in the 3rd quarter and a 10 yard pass from Price to CJ Johnson who made a great diving catch in the back of the end zone at the 10:41 mark in the 4th quarter.

Homecoming is always a special week for Coach Fennewald. "I always have believed that the Homecoming game is special not only for our seniors and team, but also for our school and community. Its great to cap off a great week with a win for all those who bleed green."

Jayden Price finished the game with 4 passing touchdowns and 1 rushing touchdowns. This brings his career rushing touchdown to 39 in regular season games, surpassing Mulvane standout Huldon Tharp (38) for the school record for rushing touchdowns in regular season games. Jayden has 41 rushing touchdowns in all games including post season which brings him within 2 of Huldon's record of 43 for his career.
